Ottawa 2017

Back in December 2017 Pathfinder Youth Centre Society was invited to Ottawa to participate in an information gathering session by The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Persons with Disabilities (HUMA). Ruth and Orville Lee were given the opportunity to share their years of experience and knowledge of working with youth in the “trenches”.

The session was held at the House of Commons and was designed to look at the way experiential learning can guide younger Canadians through the transitions from high school, post-secondary education, and the labour market. Some of the topics discussed were youth underemployment after completing their education and youth unemployment and how it harms the transition to the workforce.
