Board of Directors

We have a Board of Directors with a serious interest in
youth issues and are leaders in the local community.

Orville Lee

President

Orville Lee is a co-founder of the Pathfinder youth home and has a diploma in social work and psychology from Stratford Institute. Orville has been a youth worker with Hollyburn Family Services, a one-on-one mentor with Community Living BC and organized various sports camps for the YMCA and other community partners. He has changed the lives of many youth, who may have otherwise dropped out of school, became homeless or had problems with the judicial system. Before becoming a youth worker, Orville was a Canadian Football League player, who won the Schenley Award in 1988 for being the most outstanding rookie in the league.

Shammi Ram-Ditta

Vice-President & Treasurer

Shammi is the owner of Digital Synectics, a multimedia and web development consulting firm. She has a strong interest in youth and family related issues and has worked as a youth coordinator within her church organization and with the Salvation Army’s downtown outreach program. Shammi currently serves on the auction committee of the New Westminster Hyack Football Club.


Dr. Christopher M. Spence

Director

Dr. Christopher Spence became the new Director of Education for Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board on September 1, 2004. Dr. Spence has more than 15 years experience as a teacher, principal and senior administrator. He has developed special programs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and has used his writing, film making and public speaking skills to change their lives.Chris was the youngest superintendent appointed to the Toronto District School Board and won many awards for his outstanding contributions to education and the community. He was recognized by the City of Toronto for best practices in education and by the community group “Why we are Here” for outstanding educational contributions. He also received the outstanding alumni award from Simon Fraser University, as well as the Positive Impact Award and Canadian Black Achievement Award for Professional Achievement and Community Leadership.

Patricia Belgrave
Patricia Belgrave

Director

Patricia Belgrave has been supporting the Pathfinder Youth Centre Society since its inception. She has experience working with youth as a mentor, one to one support worker and project coordinator. She coaches and mentors female athletes and has volunteered with victim services with the RCMP.

Jamall Lee
Jamall Lee

Youth Director

Jamal has been involved with the Pathfinder Youth Centre Society since 2003. Jamall has been a part of the coaching staff for the Society’s free summer sports camps, and recreation nights. Jamall is a former member of the BC Lions and has a background in sociology. His future endeavours is to one day be one of the leaders of the Society.

Susan Richards De Wit

Media Relations

As a Communications Consultant, Susan Richards de Wit provides clients with over 10 years experience in business writing, public relations, and investor relations expertise. Susan provides a range of services from strategic media relations programs to reputation management and business writing to a variety of sectors. Susan’s client list includes The Vancouver Canucks (columnist), Business in Vancouver (columnist), The Vancouver Sun, The Globe & Mail, as well as local universities and high technology companies. Susan graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1991 with a BA in English Literature. She recently completed a graduate degree in Journalism from the University of Westminster, London, England.
